**The Role**:
Supervise an administrative team of secretaries and administrative clerks and to provide a comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently. Ensure the work of the administrative team is carried out in accordance with NHS Lanarkshire’s standard operating procedures. Take primary responsibility for organising theatre schedules for your speciality (or specialities) to make optimum use of the available capacity. All work should be carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (including waiting time guarantees for patients).

**What we'll need you to bring**:
- SVQ level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) plus experience as a medical secretary
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of medical terminology
- Evidence of effective team working and dealing with change
- Evidence of good communication skills with patients, clinicians and colleagues.
- Advanced audio typing skills
- Evidence of strong competence with relevant IT systems
- Excellent organisational skills
- Proven ability to work under pressure
**It would be great if you also have**:
- In-patient and out-patient scheduling experience
- NHS experience as a medical secretary or Band 3/4 administration.
- Knowledge of waiting times & treatment time guarantees
- Working knowledge of Opera theatre system
- Milan Reports
- Proficiency in use of software systems including Trakcare, Clinical Portal, Milan, OPERA Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Winscribe
**Contract type**:
Fixed Term or Secondment for 9 months
Part Time
25 hours
Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.
**Location and Working Pattern**:
This role will be based in Surgical & Critical Care within University Hospital Hairmyres.
The working pattern for this role is Mon - Fri.
