Ophthalmology Outpatient Scheduling Co-ordinator

**The Role**:
The Ophthalmology Outpatient Scheduling Co-ordinator will be responsible for the Coordination of a multi-disciplinary and complex departmental rota. You will promote and ensure a high standard of patient scheduling within a centralised service, assist in the provision of administrative support of external waiting list initiatives; insourcing and outsourcing.
You will Coordinate the community glaucoma service which involves overseeing the safe discharge of patients from secondary care into a community setting and will be responsible for the analysis and validation of outpatient elective waiting lists, deal with telephone and face to face enquiries from all staff groups, patients, relatives, carers, providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery and co-ordinate and contribute to quality improvement projects as required by the service.

**What we'll need you to bring**:
- HNC/SVQ III in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years Medical Records experience, preferably within Ophthalmology.
- High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Datix, and additional Software Systems, particularly PMS and ORMIS.
- Must be able to prioritise a heavy workload and work autonomously.
- Must be able to demonstrate highly developed interpersonal and communication skills due to the complexity of the service network, the wide variety of staff groups involved and the need to motivate and persuade staff to function as a team.
- Must have good problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a very busy environment.
**It would be great if you also have**:
- Knowledge of waiting times & treatment time guarantees
- Working knowledge of Opera theatre system
- Milan Reports

This role will be based in: Ophthalmology dept. within University Hospital Hairmyres.
The working pattern for this role: Monday to Friday 07:45-15:45
