**The Role**:
We need you to supervise an administrative team of secretaries and administrative clerks and to provide a comprehensive administrative support to a team of clinicians, enabling clinicians to operate effectively and efficiently. Ensure the work of the administrative team is carried out in accordance with NHS Lanarkshire’s standard operating procedures.

You will take primary responsibility for organising theatre schedules for your speciality (or specialities) to make optimum use of the available capacity. All work should be carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (including waiting time guarantees for patients).
- Coordination of multi-disciplinary and complex departmental rota
- Promote and ensure a high standard of patient scheduling within a centralised service.
- Assist in the provision of administrative support of external waiting list initiatives; insourcing and outsourcing
- Advise on pressures within the service so that resources can be allocated appropriately to improve overall service delivery. This will require the post-holder to be able to analyse, collate and summarise complex data and data audit. Working knowledge of Milan, Tolero and Microsoft Excel essential.
- Coordination of community glaucoma service which involves overseeing the safe discharge of patients from secondary care into a community setting
- Responsible for analysis and validation of outpatient elective waiting lists.
- Deal with telephone and face to face enquiries from all staff groups, patients, relatives, carers, providing information, directing and prioritising queries as appropriate, to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery.
- Co-ordinate and contribute to quality improvement projects as required by the service

**What we'll need you to bring**:

- A comprehensive knowledge of NHSL systems to include Trakcare, Clinical Portal, SCI-Gateway, Milan and Microsoft packages.
- Comprehensive knowledge of waiting lists and Waiting Times Targets to ensure clinics are booked effectively and sessions utilised to capacity.
- The ability to effectively communicate with and provide support to clinicians in matters of outpatient scheduling.
- The ability to manage a diverse workload working within time restraints

**Location and Working Pattern**:
This role will be based in Ophthalmology Department within University Hospital Hairmyres.

The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday
