A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to provide pastoral support for nurses to work within the Offender Health Directorate as a Pastoral Support Officer.

As a Pastoral Support Officer your role will be to make sure that the our International Nurses are supported through the on-boarding and recruitment process so that they will be able to perform to their full potential and integrate well into their ward/department environments, and that they are building good working relationships with other team members.

You will contribute to identifying ways of continuously improving the recruitment process and ensuring that the individuals have a positive experience.

You will ensure that new starters have the opportunity to discuss potential career pathways and identify areas of learning and development which may support their aspirations. This work will link with the Trusts Workforce strategy in relation to retention, workforce planning and talent management.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide pastoral support to Overseas Nurses with the prime focus of this role being:
1. Ensure that new starters are supported through the on-boarding and recruitment process, maintaining regular contact and acting as a first point of contact for advice, support and guidance.
2. To identify any issues/problems quickly and ensure that they are dealt with promptly.
3. Liaise with the International Recruitment Team and Line Managers to ensure the workplace is ready for the new starters first day of employment [that all start date ready actions are complete]
4. In conjunction with Line Managers, ensure new starters have an identified ‘buddy’ who will support them in the first six months.
5. In conjunction with Line Managers, ensure new starters understand who will provide clinical/managerial/safeguarding supervision and that this is scheduled.
6. Assist in identifying those who wish to progress within their career, identifying appropriate pathways.
7. The post holder will be responsible for prioritising own workload and supervising work, accordingly, escalating to the International Nurse Recruitment Lead.
8. Engage in targeted recruitment events to promote NottsHC as an employer.

The post holder will have

Experience of managing own workload.

Experience of a range of administrative procedures.

Experience of having delivered high standards of customer service.

Experience of overseeing/ supporting projects.

Experience in using databases and spreadsheet

A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is required for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
