**Administration Lead**
Based in Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds
**Who are we?**
Newmedica are one of the leading providers of NHS ophthalmology services in England, providing outpatients appointments, diagnostic testing and eye surgery. We aim to change lives through better sight and eye health.
We care for more than 225,000 NHS and private patients a year in over 26 locations and we’re growing.
**Role overview**
We are looking for a new Administration Lead to join our Ipswich and Bury St Edmunds sites. This will be 40 hours over 5 days per week, including weekends on a rota basis.
The Administration Lead plays a key role in ensuring that all admin processes are efficient, accurate and fit for purpose. Leading the admin team on a day-to-day basis you’ll ensure that only the very best level of care and attention is given to our patients and that all interactions they receive from us are clear, concise and correct.
You will ensure that patient confidentiality is always maintained in all verbal and written communication, and you will have a full understanding of patient pathways and the appointment processes to make sure the patient journey is a smooth one.
You will have line management responsibility for the Healthcare Administration team, prepare and present data relating to services in collaboration with the Service Manager, review and optimise administration structure and processes, promote and lead service improvement as implement change as required, and much more (please contact us for a job description for the full list of responsibilities).
We also need someone who is incredibly customer focussed and enjoys meeting and talking to people - the thought of eye surgery can be a daunting prospect for patients to deal with, so all our team members need to be empathetic and friendly and able to put patients at ease.
**What skills and experience do I need?**
We’re looking for someone with previous administrative experience, ideally in a supervisory capacity. And ideally, you’ll have worked in a healthcare environment before, but this is not essential.
We’ll provide full training on things like our systems and processes, but the following elements will be advantageous:
- Awareness / understanding of the CQC regulatory standards
- A working knowledge and experience of the 18-week RTT pathway requirements
- Ability to multitask and prioritise own work without supervision
- Experience of implementing process improvement
- A competent user of all Office 365 programmes
- Tech savvy and comfortable working on new systems e.g. patient record systems
- A good phone manner
- An excellent grasp of the English language both verbally and in written format
- A good team player - happy to jump in and support others when required
**What we’re offering**
- A starting salary of £28,000.00
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- 1 day of birthday leave per year
- A company pension scheme
- Monthly All-stop days (providing time for team building and training sessions)
- Workplace pantry
- Discretionary bonus scheme
- Access to a range of benefits including free eye tests, discounted or free glasses, a free 24/7 well-being/counselling/advice service and a retail/technology discount scheme.
- Free staff parking
- An environment where your learning and development is supported through a range of various learning tools and courses.
- Working with a friendly multi-disciplinary team passionate about improving the lives of our patients
- A bright, spacious and modern working environment, built to the highest standards
Newmedica is fully committed to safeguarding the welfare of all people, irrespective of gender, age, disability, sexual orientation, race, language, religion, ethnic or social origin.
