Equity Release Underwriting Assistant

Due to internal promotion we are recruiting someone to join us as an Equity Release Pre Approved Underwriting Assistant in our Hitchin offices.

Initially you will be required to work Full Time in the offices until fully trained and then Hybrid working -2 -3 days per week in.

**About you**:

- Possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Demonstrate the ability to work well in a fast-paced, changing environment while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in your work, and meeting tight deadlines
- Have good administration skills, including the ability to manage, organise, and prioritise your own workload, to meet customer needs
- Be able to work independently on complex cases, while also helping your team to deliver on key targets
- Proactively consider the evolving needs of the business, and our changing industry
- Make pragmatic decisions on your own cases, in line with regulatory requirements and the LV= values
- Be numerate and literate, with a real eye for detail and the ability to find important data within documents and records
- Have good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.

**Details**:
Your day-to-day duties will include
- Building an excellent understanding of the Equity Release lending criteria and mandate, enabling you to make confident and appropriate decisions
- Supporting advisers where needed, and obtaining additional information when required, in order to resolve queries effectively
- Carrying out general underwriting administration, including keeping the intermediary updated at every step
- Offering help and support to the team, and grasping the opportunity to learn from experienced Underwriters
- Using your knowledge and ideas to work with other business functions on implementing improvements to our processes, systems, and working practices
- Supporting team members by delivering training on products and processes as you become more knowledgeable within your role
- Proactively managing your work caseload to ensure a positive customer journey and supporting your colleagues do the same
- Receiving calls from internal advisors and dealing with these accordingly. (need to amend this bit - is there anything about managing calls and providing clear and precise information) as if they were to take calls it could be from our internal teams or external advisers.
