The post is being offered at 1.0wte for 24 months and will be line managed through the NBT Research & Development Department, having access to peer support and mentorship from the Research Development and Grants Team, whilst being based day-to-day with the Neurosurgery Team.

The Research Facilitator will work with the Neurosurgery Team; Mr Mario Teo and Mr Crispin Wigfield, external collaborators and patients to drive forward a research strategy and a pipeline of high-quality research grants; setting up NBT as a collaborator on external grants as well as leading the development of home-grown research and grant submissions to a range of funders; coordinating public and patient involvement, supporting grant writing, liaising with collaborators and organising project teams, working with the Research and Innovation department to cost grants, leading on the set-up of grants, including IRAS submissions, and working with our finance and contracts team.

The post-holder will work closely with the Neurosurgery Team to develop a portfolio of research into vasospasm. Liaising with a broad range of stakeholders to identify and set-up up opportunities for collaborating on international/national research projects as well as developing NBT -led research ideas. They will ensure that studies are set-up with appropriate regulatory approvals, contracts and finance arrangements as well as ensuring that projects are feasible and include public and patient engagement.
