Job Overview:
Key Responsibilities:

- **Technical Support**: Assist customers with technical inquiries and provide detailed product information and specifications.
- **Sales Assistance**: Support the sales team in processing customer orders, preparing quotes, and following up on sales leads.
- **Customer Relationship Management**: Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions.
- **Product Knowledge**: Develop a deep understanding of our technical products and stay up-to-date with new features and updates.
- **Collaboration with Technical Teams**: Work closely with technical and engineering teams to understand product capabilities and limitations.
- **Market Research**: Conduct research to identify new sales opportunities and stay informed about industry trends.
- **Data Management**: Accurately enter and manage customer data in the company CRM system.
- **Reporting**: Assist in creating sales reports and analysing sales performance.

Qualifications:

- Qualification in a technical field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science) or equivalent experience.
- Experience in a technical support or sales role is a plus.
- Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn about new products.

Skills and Abilities:

- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts in an understandable manner.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with CRM systems.
- A team player with a customer-focused attitude.
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Work Environment:

- This is a full-time, office-based position.
- Working hours are typically Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional overtime as needed.

Career Progression:
This role offers the opportunity to grow into higher-level sales or technical roles within the company, such as Technical Sales Specialist or Account Manager.

Specific training including high level e-learning is available to allow employees to continually improve their skills to the highest level.

SMS have a long established and respected reputation in the field industrial automation which included high level machine automation. The demand for automation and robotics will continue to grow and so we are looking for someone who is interested in this area but has sales and organisation skills. Some aptitude and interest in developing technical skills including how technical parts are fitted together would be ideal.

**Salary**:
Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications, with potential for performance-based bonuses.
