One Small Thing is striving for positive change across the justice system by implementing small things in a big way.

We provide gender responsive, trauma-informed programmes within the prison and community sectors that consider the individual caught in a cycle of crime and incarceration, with the aim of humanising their experiences. **Hope Street** is an exciting, brand-new, purpose-built residential community-based service, designed in collaboration with women, for justice-involved women and their children in Hampshire. Trauma-informed by design it will offer a safe and supportive environment where women and their children can access education, practical and therapeutic support and activities that build confidence, self-esteem and skills and provide the opportunity to build a fulfilling and happy life and play a meaningful role within society.

**About the Role**

As Head of Operations you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team who will be leading a brand-new team to bring this exciting new provision to life.

You will have oversight of all the key delivery areas of Hope Street, with responsibility for ensuring that the service provided to women and children at the Hope Street Hub and in the supported housing meets the high standards expected and consistently meets the needs of all residents and stakeholders. You will also be the Designated Safeguarding Lead with responsibility for ensuring that all safeguarding concerns identified are responded to quickly and appropriately.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Work closely with the Community Director to represent Hope Street at local and national forums to raise the profile of the service and help embed the Hope Street community within the long-term strategy for women’s services in Hampshire.
- Support the development of effective partnerships with key partners and stakeholders in Hampshire, including Justice partners, health and wellbeing partners, and housing providers to develop an effective women’s pathway in Hampshire.
- As the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensure that safeguarding is embedded as the top priority for all women and children across the Hope Street community, and that there are appropriate risk management processes in place for all operational functions, and for all the women and children within the Hope Street community.
- Ensure that the training programme in place for the staff team enables them to effectively implement the Hope Street model across the service and provide appropriate support to the women and children who come to Hope Street.
- Ensure that the service complies with all relevant legislative requirements and meets the standards of excellence required by the Care Quality Commission.
- With colleagues in the Senior Leadership Team plan and manage the annual budget for Hope Street and participate in regular budget monitoring meetings to ensure that all expenditure at Hope Street is within budgeted parameters, and any overspend, or unanticipated expenditure are responded to appropriately.
- Lead the process for taking Hope Street through the One Small Thing Quality Mark from Bronze to Gold during the first three year of operations.

Extensive experience of managing and delivering residential services and community based person-centred support services for people, particularly women, who have experienced trauma and abuse, substance use problems, mental health problems, homelessness, and have multiple vulnerabilities.**A/I**
