Venture Recruitment Partners are delighted to be working in partnership with a leadingorganisation, based in Southampton, in their search for a Head of Finance.**
**Key Responsibilities of the Head of Finance include:

- To be a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) contributing to the overall strategic direction and management
- To lead on all financial matters to ensure successful financial performance and to ensure financial decisions are linked to strategic goals;
- Work with the SLT to establish and manage the annual budget including anticipated annual capital expenditure
- Continually monitor and manage the Annual Budget all year round
- Forecast future years’ budgets, based upon past/anticipated performance, market trends and all agreed cost/capex assumptions
- Model, analyse and forecast future performance of any expansion project or additional service line.
- Control and manage the financial accounts of the two group companies via Xero
- Control and manage all tax matters related to the two group companies
- Comply with financial reporting requirements and submit statutory returns, liaising with external advisors and audit as required
- Prepare financial data for the Board and investors on a monthly basis and on an ad hoc basis as required;
- Collate all submissions for Board packs and prepare pack for monthly Board meetings;
- Act as Board secretary, taking and preparing minutes;
- Prepare ad hoc financial analysis to support key operational and strategic decisions.
- Preparing all invoices and collect all debt;
- Review and manage the authorisation of all spending;
- Review and ensure all bills are quality checked and paid and
- Oversee the payroll provision with the payroll provider
- Manage compliance with statutory obligations

Key Skills/Experience of the Head of Finance include:

- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA)
- Experience leading, managing, and developing teams, with the ability to think in strategic terms and exercise leadership.
- Experience of working in a business partnering role and delivering an exceptional customer service to stakeholders
- Significant experience of working in an account’s preparation role with strong analytical skills to enable production of meaningful financial reporting.
- Motivation to streamline processes and identify and implement continuous improvement.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly accounting systems and high level excel skills, including data manipulation and interrogation.
- Ability to convert data into management information easily understood by non-accountants and colleagues alike.
- Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills to engage colleagues at all levels, including those without financial expertise.
