First Mile is an award-winning recycling company and one of the fastest-growing environmental companies in the UK. We have been around since 2004 and provide recycling collections to over 30,000 business customers; helping them recycle more, send nothing to landfill, and get stats on all their achievements.
We have grown rapidly because we put our customers at the heart of everything we do and constantly challenge ourselves to make recycling easier for them. These customers range from small offices and shops to large businesses, including Pret a Manger, Facebook, Zara, and Caffe Nero.

About the Role
If you’re committed to providing first-class customer service, then this is a great opportunity for you. We want you to amaze customers by providing swift and efficient responses to queries of all kinds. From order-taking and problem-solving to answering questions on what can be recycled.
The working hours are 9:00-5.30 Monday to Friday with an hour lunch break, the starting salary is £22,000 a year with an additional performance bonus.
**Responsibilities include**:
**Answering calls from existing customers**: taking orders and dealing with general enquiries
Responding to customer live chat requests
Solving both routine problems and complex customer enquiries and issues
Complaint handling
Outgoing courtesy calls to existing clients to check the services are going well
**Requirements**:
To succeed in this role, you need to have a brilliant phone manner and a proactive and enthusiastic attitude. Other key requirements include;
Excellent communication and listening skills
Great accuracy and attention to detail
Good problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time efficiently
Good computer skills
Determination and resilience
Be an excellent collaborator
