We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Specialist CAMHS Practitioner (such as a Social Worker, Nurse, Family Therapist, Clinical/Counselling Psychologist, Psychotherapist, Creative Art Therapist) with therapeutic training and experience to come and work in the socially and culturally diverse borough of City and Hackney.
This post is part of a comprehensive Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service, within the East London NHS Foundation Trust and as part of the wider Hackney CAMHS Alliance. This post will include the provision of specialist CAMHS advice/consultation and mental health assessment, family interventions and liaison with other agencies.
The role will be varied and will include managing a caseload within the multi-disciplinary E&B Team in order to provide brief treatment for often co-occurring emotional and behavioural difficulties. The team values consultation, liaison with professional networks and formulation within a systemic and community context.
This post will provide a specialist service within City and Hackney CAMHS to young people and their families. The post holder will require a high degree of professional autonomy and self-management, and will be required to account for their professional practice through appraisal and audit. It is possible that this role might contain up to a day a week working within the Wellbeing and Mental Health in Schools (WAMHS) service in the future.
The post holder will be an experienced clinician with knowledge of the field of child and adolescent mental health. The post holder will possess strong engagement skills, the ability to work creatively in relation to complex emotional and behavioural needs. We emphasize giving our clients informed choices, as well as using available, appropriate, evidence-based resources and treatment packages. Our team works in partnership with young people, their families, carers and significant others/networks including statutory and voluntary agencies.
Our mission is to make a positive difference to people's lives by improving the quality of life for all we serve. Our values are: We Care, We Respect, We are Inclusive - so we are looking for people who live and breathe these qualities when supporting service users and carers, and in their relationships with colleagues in the Trust and our partner organisations.
Please see the attached job description and person specification for further information on this role.
