GKR are working with a private family office with huge amounts of financial resource and a strong development pipeline here in the UK. With a focus on mid sized commercial projects, a good development pipeline and appetite to acquire new potential investmentopportunities the business is looking for an experienced Development Director to lead from the front.

This role will have full responsibility, acquisitions, planning, design and delivery of every project within the investment group as well as driving acquisition pipeline. A very hands on role in which you will lead a lean team and report directly into theChairman.

Role & Responsibilities:

- Responsibility for origination of the investment deals, due diligence, structuring and execution of transactions and will advise the owner on existing and new investments
- Form, build and maintain effective relationships and work closely with real estate professionals UK wide
- Responsible for new deal origination and sourcing
- Manage the acquisition process including overseeing due diligence and valuation analysis on target acquisitions, ensuring that comprehensive appraisals are undertaken
- Prepare and present opportunities to the Owner for formal approval
- Assist in building the business plan at both an asset and corporate level following successful acquisitions
- Day-to-day project management of the construction phase. This includes managing third party interfaces and working with the Contractor and Design Team to ensure the programme is maintained and the contingency protected.
- Day-to-day oversight and project management of the post planning and construction phases. This includes co-ordinating the design from stage 3b onwards, managing third party interfaces, supporting the procurement of the Main Contractor and build contractand project management of the delivery phase through to completion.
- Supporting the pre-construction and construction phases of our pipeline projects to ensure that the design is outstanding and has embedded within it both construction and operational efficiencies that will ensure its viability.
- Procurement of Main Contractors (JCT Design and Build), Surveys and Third Party Agreements within allocated budgets and programmes of work.
- Contributing to the development of product. The product development includes apartment and communal layouts, interiors and specifications, sustainability, technology and operational performance.
- Identifying project risks and producing action plans to mitigate the project risks.
- Preparing project reports and presenting them to donors and stakeholders
- Keeping track of sent proposals and updating the development team

Essential skills and qualifications:

- Graduate or post-graduate qualification (MRICS)
- 15+ years’ experience in acquisition and the delivery of development projects
- A strong background in project management with commercial assets
- Extensive professional network in the UK and knowledge of UK real estate
- Strong financial modelling skills
- Real Estate software: Argus
- Strategic thinker with good business sense
- Excellent interpersonal skills, strong verbal and written communications
- Strong thinker able to deliver clear, well-articulated, reports and analysis;
Salary - £140,000-£150,000 + 50%-100% Bonus
