Crewe, United Kingdom We Are With You Full time

Are you passionate about supporting the voice of vulnerable children? If you can provide the encouragement and guidance to set in place support plans and engagement with specialist services, and you have what it takes to work in partnership with Children’s Social Care and local authority residential homes and foster care providers, this might be the role for you.

A key deliverable in the role of Missing From Home Worker is to work in collaboration with local authorities and the local constabulary to offer support on the issues affecting young people and their families. This is a role requiring specialist knowledge in the field, to provide interventions and direct work, as well as signposting and implementing relevant referrals for our young people and their families.

Pan Cheshire is a Missing From Home (MFH) service spanning Four Local Authorities; Halton, Warrington, Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East. Each locality team has two designated MFH workers, with the exception of Cheshire East which is slightly larger. The service strives to offer all young people who go missing from home an independent Return Interview in order to tailor appropriate interventions and reduce risk taking behaviour.

You will assess young people’s needs and provide harm reduction advice, information and signposting; encouraging engagement into specialist services; Develop and sustain productive relationships within Children’s Social Care and referring agencies to ensure the regular and appropriate referrals are received; Undertake one to one work with children and young people vulnerable to missing incidents to inform a risk reduction plan; Collect and report on information from all young people who are assessed; completing all required monitoring information by set timescales.

This is a great opportunity to advocate for the safety and recovery of the children and young people who engage with our services, identifying ways in which we can improve their wellbeing, reduce harm and ensure they are appropriately supported by relevant services. You will undertake return interviews for all missing from home or care notifications received by Police and Social Care within struct timescales.

You will be responsible for managing a caseload of one-to-one work with children and young people, managing risk, and identifying the most appropriate pathway based on an assessment of needs.
