Homeless Recovery Worker
**Part Time, 28 hours a week Monday to Friday**
What is homelessness? Who can it effect? What can I do to help?
If these are questions that you ask yourself or want to ask, then please read on because we need you
Our work is important to so many people and we work hard to help individuals find a safe, warm and dry place to live, because we all deserve to have that.
We now have unique opportunities for Recovery Support Workers to join our Outreach Service or our Young People Service, helping those experiencing homelessness.
As our Recovery Worker, you’ll be on-hand to provide exceptional support to clients, helping to create clear housing plans and ensure that they have access to support services. You’ll provide personalised support, ensuring it meets the client’s wellbeing both practically and emotionally. This could include a variety of issues, including substance misuse, mental health and health conditions. You’ll support clients to develop their social networks, relationships and encourage self-care. Working with a caseload, you will complete an initial assessment and produce person-centred support plans. Confident and approachable, you’ll feel comfortable working alone in the community and build relationships with stakeholders and other agencies. This isn’t a typical 9 - 5 job; there are times when you will have to work early mornings and evenings, even the occasional weekend to meet the needs of clients but the satisfaction that you are making a difference to someone’s life is invaluable.
**Could this be the job for you?**
We’re not looking for experience in a similar role, as we know that you could come from any walk of life. What is important is your passion and resilience coupled with the drive and determination to make a difference. You’ll be customer-focused and self-motivated, ideally with knowledge of the benefits system and tenancy legislation, so that you can make recommendations to clients. With a genuine interest and concern for homelessness and relates issues, you will be ready to join a team of like-minded people and change the world we all live in, helping to make it a better and safer place one step at a time.
Due to the nature of the Outreach Service role, a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential.
