You will be instrumental in the design and delivery of the Trusts Business Intelligence service, working collaboratively with clinicians and senior managers ensuring that analytical programme plans are developed, maintained and delivered.

You will have experience of delivering business intelligence across multiple stakeholder groups, using effective engagement to provide analytical and problem-solving support to quickly assimilate complex and/or conflicting information and determine appropriate action.

An innovative and intrepid approach to the use of established and emerging technology is required, to ensure that the Business Intelligence service continues to remain responsive to the needs of the Trust.

Detailed working knowledge of the Dorset health and care system is desirable, however not essential.

A proactive and enthusiastic individual, with the resilience to deal with shifting priorities and demands, you will be passionate about using the latest innovations, designing and delivering reporting solutions using the Trusts sophisticated data warehouse and data visualisation tools (Power BI), to deliver insights which support decision making.

The Business Intelligence team is part of Digital Services, a friendly, supportive, and dedicated group of professionals who are committed to providing outstanding support services to Dorset County Hospital.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with a wide range of staff groups within the Trust, counterparts from across the Integrated Care System and representatives of external organisations.

Business intelligence and analytics is pivotal to the delivery of high-quality efficient healthcare provision. The Business Intelligence Team provides analysis and insights to support the Trust in using information to support effective decision making, ensuring that they make the best use of their resources, understand their performance and provide the information required to enable them to focus on areas of greatest opportunity. This role will offer opportunities to set the standards and lead on the use of data and information throughout the Trust in order to bring business intelligence and data analytics to the forefront of shaping patient care.

The Business Intelligence Partner will proactively support clinicians and senior managers to make, data driven, strategic and operational decisions through the creation and interpretation of intelligence by:

- Supporting the operational and strategic decision-making process through the provision of focused business intelligence
- Providing leadership on capacity planning and modelling to support service developments and the delivery of contracted activity and performance objectives.
- Continually developing the information and business intelligence provision, working closely with all Trust staff to foster an intelligence led culture
- Working pro-actively to ensure the Trust is aware of the impact on information through business developments and process changes whilst conversely ensuring that operational leaders are fully aware of changes and developments in information systems, policies and software.
- Co-ordinating the provision of high quality, timely and accurate information and provide appropriate analysis to assist the Division in delivering a high quality, safe, patient focused service.
- Capturing key business requirements to support the delivery of high quality, safe, patient focused services
- Acting as a key function of the early warning mechanism for Trust performance concerns, highlighting and escalating areas of risk to operational teams.
- Recommending and implementing strategic improvements to streamline and enhance existing processes and systems, promoting greater efficiency and effectiveness within the Business Intelligence team.
