**Administration Officer for Emergency Accommodation**

**Location: Brighton (Office based)**

**Salary: £25k - £28k + Company benefits**

**Hours: Mon-Fri 9am - 17.30pm**

**Parking available**

Do you want to work in a role where you really make a difference? My client is looking for a confident and experienced administrator to join their team that looks after the local council contract for emergency accommodation based in their central offices in Brighton.

You will ideally have a background in social housing administration and customer services and have an ability to problem solve and deal with all members of the public.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assessing clients' needs and producing support plans.
- Advising clients of their rights - for example, to benefits and healthcare.
- Collating and providing information on housing vacancies and housing rights.
- Maintaining accurate client records.
- Making referrals to specialist organisations and services.
- Visiting clients and maintaining professional, trusting relationships with them.
- Assessing risks and ensuring clients’ accommodation is safe and secure.
- Liaising with voluntary and statutory agencies.
- Raising awareness of homelessness and the impact of insecure housing.
- Collection of client contributions.
- Dealing with cancellation and bookings as we are the contractor to the council.
- Strong communication and organisation skills.
- Ideally worked within social housing or working alongside the homeless.
- A natural problem solver that can liaise with all levels of people effectively.
- Strong administrative skills.
- Good IT skills inclusive of Word and Excel.
- Practical, patient, and personable.
