Applications are invited for the post of Medical Laboratory Assistant to work within Blood Sciences, at the Royal Cornwall Hospital, Truro.

It's an exciting time with a new Blood Sciences laboratory open covering haematology, blood transfusion and clinical chemistry. The job purpose is to provide laboratory, reception, clerical and data entry support cover as part of a laboratory team.

The receipt of samples from within the hospital and surrounding GP practices.

Sample preparation, request data entry and presentation for analysis as appropriate.

To support the specific and technical and clerical duties alongside Biomedical Scientists as part of a team to facilitate the smooth running of the service.

Sustainability is integral to the Trust achieving the NHS Net Zero target. All staff are therefore actively encouraged and supported to implement new ways of working within their field of expertise.

Previous laboratory experience and use of Laboratory management information system (LIMS) is would be desirable but full training will be provided. You must have four GCSE's at grade 5 or equivalent including Mathematics, Science and English.
