**About **this opportunity**
The areas of work cover all domestic, residential, commercial, and industrial developments. You will also provide professional building regulation advice to our customers and be fully aware that we are in competition with the private sector.
- You will work alongside other colleagues, such as Team Leaders, Specialist Officers and Case Management Officers to help you deliver a customer-focussed, high performing and high-quality Building Control service.
- You will need to have experience of successfully working with other professional disciplines, in developing innovative ways of working with contractors and applicants to deliver buildings showing compliance with the building regulations.
- You should also have well-developed written and verbal communication skills; a positive, collaborative attitude and strong work ethic plus a detailed knowledge of relevant up-to-date requirements and regulations together with an ability to work effectively, either individually or as part of a team.
- **In addition, you will**:

- Have a degree / relevant professional qualification and/or extensive work experience in specialist area.
- Be a qualified to RICS or CABE member or alternatively working towards chartered membership.
- Be a registered Building Inspector - General Class
- Be competent with IT and have skills for inputting data and information.
- Have a full UK Driving Licence and have access to a suitable vehicle for travel to and from development.
- This opportunity would be offered at a Specialist Level 1 Grade 10 - £33,945 to £34,834 and upon successful completion of the General Class Registration the salary will increase to Grade 13 - £40,221 to £41,418.
