**Role Overview**:
You will be joining us at an exciting time. We are on an incredible journey of change to support the Council’s 2030 plans and beyond. You will be part of the Organisational Development Team and play a significant part in the delivery of our new People Strategy across the wider organisation and within the assigned Directorate area, which supports a positive employee lifecycle experience.

Working proactively with senior leaders in the relevant Directorate and across our senior leadership team, you will lead on driving forward strategic priorities, including diagnosing and addressing workforce challenges.

Responsibility for helping Directorate service areas succeed in ways that lay the foundations for the future workforce, taking steps to improve performance, engagement and workforce planning.

**Key Responsibilities**
- To establish, grow and promote effective strategic partnerships across the directorate portfolio and with external partners to enable the delivery of strategic interventions arising from the People Strategy, which support the employee lifecycle and strengthen employee experience.
- Proactively drive conversations and positively challenge services in relation to designing effective and efficient service delivery models, ensuring that they support the delivery of good quality services and a good resident experience.
- Responsible for researching opportunities, horizon scanning, benchmarking and championing best practice in order to drive conversations in relation to effective strategies and organisational design.
- Lead and / or contribute to the development and implementation of workforce policies and procedures to ensure these facilitate the vision within the people strategy for delivering a culture of good performance, leading to better outcomes for people and places across the Borough and beyond
- Analyse, report and present employee-based information and drive benchmarking activity in relation to the development of effective strategies and solutions.
- Actively promote and champion the equalities, diversity and inclusion agenda both in the workplace and in service delivery.
- Engrain wellbeing within directorate people strategies. This will involve data gathering, engaging with services, measuring results, listening to feedback and improving policies and practices.

**Key Requirements**:
To succeed in this role, you will need as a minimum:

- Evidence of continued professional, managerial and personal development, in relation to the role
- Level 7 CIPD qualified (or equivalent experience)

**About You**:
You will be an experienced practitioner who ideally has breathe of experience and knowledge across both organisational development and human resources. You will have experience of working at a strategic level and who can quickly establish themselves with professional expertise in the organisation working with teams and leaders, at all levels including senior leaders.

You will be comfortable with dealing with ambiguity, drawing on your skills and knowledge to navigate and support the organisation with complex challenges and be integral in the assessment and implementation of appropriate, innovative and effective solutions.

You will be friendly, approachable, a team player and be able to use your communication skills to effectively influence and engage our workforce in a hearts and mind approach.
