Are you a skilled Project Engineer with expertise in controls systems? Yolk Recruitment is currently seeking a talented and experienced Project Engineer (Controls) to join our client's team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of electrical control systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful delivery of engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the design and development of electrical control sub-systems and panels for various projects, including conveyor systems, motion/servo control systems, EV battery testing, and factory automation production lines.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project objectives, targets, and success criteria.
- Prepare detailed specifications and special test procedures for suppliers.
- Consult with design engineers and OEM's design department to facilitate the design function and approve concepts of electrical control systems.
- Specify, design, document, and develop electrical solutions for interfacing company products with third-party systems and plant networks, ensuring adherence to electrical design standards and processes.
- Manage sub-contractors to ensure timely delivery of work packages, including electrical designs, manufacture, and provision of operating and maintenance manuals.
- Identify relevant quality checks for hardware and wiring design and ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Provide technical support for company-manufactured and approved sourced products to internal and external customers.
- Participate in workshop testing, commissioning, fault-finding, and commissioning activities at customer premises as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety requirements, risk assessments, machinery directives, and relevant safety standards.
- Provide functional safety expertise and ensure compliance with machinery directives and safety categorization.
- Build relationships with customers, sales partners, and stakeholders, and provide technical presentations and support.
- Maintain project files and monitor progress, actively contributing to effective team working.

**Requirements**:

- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Controls and Software Engineering, or Engineering Systems. HND or apprenticeship qualifications with a proven track record in industry will also be considered.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a focus on controls systems and electrical design.
- Proficiency in EPlan P8, including Pro Panel. Experience with Fluid bolt-ons would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with Enterprise PDM for document management and project technical files.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge and use of SAP R3 or a similar integrated MRP system would be desirable.
