Job Title: Control Systems Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Specialist to join our team at Hunter Selection Limited. As a Control Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems for our clients in the engineering and manufacturing sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Control Systems: Develop and implement control systems that meet the specific needs of our clients, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Issues: Troubleshoot and resolve issues with control systems, working closely with the operations team to identify and fix problems.
  • Reduce False Alarms: Collaborate with the operations team to reduce false alarms and improve the overall performance of control systems.
  • Develop Training Programs: Assist in the development of training programs for operations and maintenance teams, ensuring they have the necessary skills to operate and maintain control systems.
  • Develop Sequences and Schedules: Develop sequences, cause and effect tables, and I/O schedules for new projects and additions, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Commissioning and Maintenance: Ensure control systems are well-maintained by adhering to preventative maintenance strategies, including backups and upgrades.
  • Stock Management: Ensure the correct stock holding of control system spares is maintained, minimizing downtime and improving overall efficiency.
  • Technician Development: Assist in the development of ABSL Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Technicians, ensuring they have the necessary skills to troubleshoot control system issues on-call.

Requirements:

  • Project Planning and Execution: Understanding of project planning and execution principles, with experience in controls and instrumentation roles.
  • PLC Programming: Good knowledge of PLC programming and DCS integrating knowledge.
  • Specifications and Regulations: Familiarity with specifications and regulations related to controls, ensuring compliance and adherence to industry standards.
