As our Volunteer Coordinator, you'll be recruiting and retaining our diverse volunteer network to support our new Manchester large format Superstore. Your role? You will be improving the volunteer offer and developing relationships internally and externally to take volunteering at the Manchester store to the next level. You will be supporting our volunteer colleagues to maximise income generation and deliver a positive customer and donor experience which brings to life Oxfam’s brand. You'll be instrumental in making our superstore ambition in Manchester a reality.

**_ The Role:_**:
We are looking for an exceptional Volunteer Co-ordinator to significantly improve the volunteering offer and develop effective partnerships both internally and externally. You will take volunteering in the Superstore to the next level, recruiting and supervising volunteers to ensure the shop raises as much money as possible to fight poverty.

This role will enable and support the Superstore team to develop a quality volunteering programme with a focus on volunteer recruitment, training and recognition. It is pivotal for the success of the Superstore and can make a real difference.

Oxfam operates a volunteer operating model, in which volunteers are empowered to take over most of the tasks within the shop. You will need to work under your own initiative and be able to identify opportunities for the shop. The job requires a passion for volunteering and to work within our values of empowerment, inclusiveness and accountability.

**_ What we are looking for:_**:

- Well organised - an effective leader and administrator who can put in place effective process and systems for recruiting and managing volunteers.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with different audiences using a range of styles and methods suited to the purpose.
- Understanding of what motivates volunteers and how to thank them and recognise their support.
- Capable of dealing with sensitive issues tactfully and maintaining confidentiality.
- Approachable, polite and respectful when working with and alongside staff and volunteers.
- Passionate about expanding volunteering and committed to giving our volunteers the best possible experience.
- Knowledge and experience of volunteer development, training, and support.
- Effective administrative, IT and organisational skills, including using software packages, online recording systems and social media.
- Ability to work some hours outside of regular business hours and to be flexible to meet the needs of the shop.
