**Role: Young Person's Practitioner.**
**Location**:Cornwall, (Countywide)
**Circa Salary**_:_**_ _£22,500 per annum (pro-rata)
**Contract/Hours**: Permanent, Part Time, 20 hours a week. Hours are negotiable between Monday and Thursday. Commitment to work 5:30pm to 8:30pm on Monday delivering a youth group is essential.
There are additional hours available particularly during busier periods such as school holidays. (Please let me know if this is the right wording) yes that's fine - during the Easter and Summer school holidays there is a commitment to deliver 3 x 5 hour short breaks a week (5 weeks in the summer) as this is our core contracted delivery. We do not offer short breaks in May or October half term.

**About the Role**:
Action for Children Cornwall SPACE is a Cornwall Council funded service providing Holiday Activities for disabled children and young people aged between 5 - 18 years. We offer disabled children and young people exciting new activities to try, providing families with an all-important short break service.
We also offer three youth groups for young disabled people between 14 - 25 years. We are currently looking for a Young Persons Practitioner to travel and work across the county of Cornwall, based from home.
**You will make a difference by**:
- Working in a team to deliver the programme to groups of children and families.
- Working collaboratively with parents/carers and children.
- Providing children and families with information and skills to help them support their needs through a variety of challenges.
- Empowering families to make positive changes.
- Planning and executing activities and encouraging active participation amongst service users.
- Conducting assessments and updating relevant paperwork.
**You will need**:
- Relevant NVQ level 3 or previous experience working with children and families.
- Exposure of working within the 5-25-year-olds with learning disabilities would be an advantage.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding practices.
- Creative, positive and proactive approach towards work.
- To be able to work and travel across the county.
