At the National Trust our vision is to be recognised as a leading fundraising charity in the UK so that people, now and in the future, benefit from nature and heritage. This includes welcoming new donors at all levels, and from diverse audience groups, inspiring their support for people and places.
We’d love to hear from you if you have Fundraising sector experience, along with a comprehensive working knowledge of the relevant regulatory frameworks. You’ll have an interest in specialising in the area of Fundraising Compliance and in particular, with helping Fundraising teams build their knowledge of and confidence in this area, as an integral part of their activity and growth.
This is a full-time permanent position, and we are very happy to consider flexible working.
What it's like to work here:We're bigger than you think, we're more complicated than we appear and we're larger scale than you'd imagine. We've got passionate people in all our teams, and we've got so much more we want to achieve. We're for everyone, for ever and we really mean that.
Your contractual location will be our head office in Swindon, however there will be an opportunity to explore and agree hybrid working arrangements which strike the right balance for you and the Trust. The role will involve travel to our head office to meet with colleagues, attend team meetings and to carry out work as required
What you'll be doing:Joining the Fundraising Operations team, you’ll build significant and productive relationships within Fundraising Operations and the wider Fundraising Team, across all countries, regions, functions and properties. You’ll bring specialist knowledge of all relevant regulatory frameworks, helping ensure these are considered and respected in all aspects of fundraising activity.
Working closely with colleagues in key departments (e.g. Gift Processing, Data Protection Office, Legal Services & Operational Compliance), you’ll build and develop tools and resources so Fundraising colleagues feel confident to access key information and process documentation.
You’ll create and develop training tools and opportunities to share knowledge and best practice, enabling an ever-improving culture of confidence for self-service on compliance requirements and processes, as well as supporting this by delivering training where needed
Who we're looking forYou can view the full role profile for this role in the document attached. You don't need to have all the knowledge, skills and experience listed in the role profile; this is just to provide a full picture of what is possible.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- Knowledge of the regulatory and legislative frameworks relevant to and impacting the fundraising environment
- Experience developing and delivering training sessions, resources and materials, both face to face and online
- Communications skills with a keenness to build and share knowledge and learnings with the team and across the organisation.
- Experience of managing projects and co-ordinating multiple workstreams
- Ability to develop meaningful and concise reports and metrics, to be shared with management, developing and communicating follow up actions.
- A love for being part of a supportive and successful team
- Knowledge of Microsoft packages, daily use of Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook
- Experience of using customer or supporter databases, as well the compliance considerations when storing personal data
The packageThe National Trust has the motto ‘For everyone, for ever’ at its heart. We’re working hard to create an inclusive culture, where everyone feels they belong. It’s important that our people reflect and represent the diversity of the communities and audiences we serve. We welcome and value difference, so when we say we’re for everyone, we want everyone to be welcome in our teams too.
- Substantial pension scheme of up to 10% basic salary
- Free entry to National Trust properties for you, a guest and your children (under 18)
