**Help unlock Net Zero**
- Would you like to collaborate with a team of forward-thinking experts, committed to Net Zero?- We’re looking for a Carbon Specialist to support the delivery of our environmental action plan and carbon targets. You’ll help our Electricity Transmission (ET) function to lead on our approach to supporting climate compensation projects, helping to define the governance, procurement and support partnerships with organisations. As part of this you will have to research the emerging nature based markets, work with our community benefit team and identify other opportunities to support carbon compensations while supporting the wider sustainability agenda.- As well as this, you’ll support us in meeting our Science Based Target and net zero infrastructure workstream, and will have the chance to shape our future sustainability strategy.- As part of our hybrid working approach, this role offers a mix of office working in Warwick and home working as well as visits to projects.- If you think you’re up to the challenge, and would like to work in a positive, inclusive organisation that aims to become one of the most diverse, equitable and inclusive companies of the 21st century, we look forward to talking to you soon.**What you'll need**:
- You’ll have a good knowledge of climate change, in particular net zero strategy and carbon management on projects, and/or nature based solutions as a means of carbon reduction/removal, and the emerging carbon markets both the UK and internationally.- We’d ideally like you to have a working knowledge of the construction or energy sector, and of nature based solutions in the context of carbon sequestration/reduction (although this isn’t essential). A general understanding of broader sustainability considerations, and an interest in the wider context for climate, sustainability and energy policy (eg climate emergency, net zero) is also desirable. Familiarity with carbon standards associated with carbon compensation projects such as Woodland Carbon Code, Peatland Carbon Code and international standards would be welcome.- You’ll possess excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills and have the ability and confidence to communicate and build relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation. You’ll be confident with research in emerging areas and be able to analyse information, identify trends and effectively communicate your findings in an engaging way.- Passionate about environmental sustainability, with high levels of enthusiasm and drive to achieve results, you’ll be able to convey complex information simply and in plain language. A relevant technical or professional qualification such as Degree, ONC, Diploma or equivalent is desirable.**What's in it for you?**:
