Trowbridge, United Kingdom Banner Full time

How our colleagues feel about working for Banner is really important to us, and being paid accurately and on time is arguably the most important factor in their experience. To us, service is everything and this principle extends beyond our external customers to our colleagues.

**What’s the job**

This role has ownership of two payroll schemes (c.400 monthly payslips, primarily salaried) and oversight of one additional payroll scheme managed by a colleague Payroll Officer. In addition you’ll own administration of benefits including pensions, company car and cash allowances, private health and life assurance covers. One of our divisions has a large seasonal headcount (c. 300, primarily hourly paid) and while this is part of one of the aforementioned PAYE schemes, it is run separately on a bi-weekly basis for 10-16 weeks each year.

**What do my tasks look like**

Using Natural HR and Cintra IQ you will ensure new starters, leavers and any changes to the usual monthly payroll are accurately reflected in systems and the final payroll production. While the system takes care of the calculations, we’re looking for someone with good experience of doing so to be able to be our internal expert with the ability to answer colleague questions about their pay.

In addition to processing payroll, you will be the point of contact for: pension queries, auto-enrolment and renewals; salary sacrifice benefits; private medical insurance; life assurance; cash allowances; cycle to work; assisting in the creation of annual P11ds; annual forecasting for pay review and bonuses; annual budgeting; and other ad hoc activity relating to or derived from colleague pay and financial benefits. You’ll also accurately track payroll accuracy and support the service and relationship management with relevant third parties such as a our payroll and flexible benefits partners.

**What attributes do I need**

You’ll be a proactive person with technical expertise in all things payroll and pensions, as well as up-to-date knowledge of best practice. You’ll be responsible for managing payroll and related benefits, but we also want you to identify opportunities for improvement, scope these out, communicate with the necessary stakeholders, and work collaboratively to effect positive change. You’ll own payroll, not just administer it, so this is an ideal role for someone with experience and interest in standalone, end-to-end payroll management, in a rapidly expanding and forward-thinking business.

**What are my hours and working days**

We’re looking for someone to work 39 hours per week over 5 days Monday to Friday on a fixed term basis ending April 2025.

**When can I start**

As soon as possible

**What’s our location**

Our Group head office is in Trowbridge and we know that being visible and accessible is a key component of the excellent feedback we get as a team, so 3 of these 5 days are office-based.

**Our team**

You’ll undoubtedly be the People & Culture department’s payroll and pensions guru, but we’re a team of driven team-players, and we pitch in to help one another deliver the best experience to our colleagues. So, while it’s a standalone role, you wouldn’t be on your own.
