Operations and IT Administrator

I am currently recruiting for an Operations Administrator to join the team at an American University that is based in the heart of Central London. The role will be providing first-line IT support for users of their facilities and assists the IT & Operationsgroup in all IT-related matters. They are happy to train you on IT systems, but you must be confident with Microsoft Suite. You will also occasionally be based on Reception and assist the Operations team with any Administration. You will report into the AssistantDirector for IT & Operations. This is a busy, hands-on role, where you will mainly be assisting wherever needed.
What you’ll do:
- Provide general IT support, answer phone calls, log requests, provide on-site assistance and escalate more complex issues as appropriate
- Provide effective and timely support for internal and external conferences, lectures, presentations and talks as well as other public events
- Supporting the IT & Operations team
- Administration - management of photocopier and mobile phone contracts, data entry into the student database, create and assist with online forms, maintain records of service requests and actions taken, stocktaking and maintain an up-to-date inventory
Who you are:
- Previous experience supporting IT or AV is ideal, but not necessary
- Detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Technically competent with the ability to learn and adapt to new technologies
- Ability to organise and prioritise work effectively
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to work as part of a team, but also independently with mínimal supervision when necessary
- Ability to work effectively under pressure
