**Overview**:
The Network & Telephony Apprentice will work alongside the current Network & Telephony Engineers and Network Architect learning and participating in the management, maintenance, monitoring, support, and upkeep of the network & telephony technology which services colleagues and residents alike across the enterprise.

The role holder, alongside current network resource, will work with external vendors in a professional capacity and handle support tickets and provide a high level of technical support to a wide range of users.

The role holder will work towards gaining a Level 4 Network Engineer apprenticeship, gaining both hands-on knowledge and experience via working with HC-One Network & Telephony Engineers and also via remote classroom led learning.

**Salary**: £20,417 per annum.

**Main Activities**:
**CORE/CLOUD/DISTRIBUTED TECHNOLOGY MANAGEMENT & SUPPORT**
**Working towards the following**:
Ensuring all network, security and telephony components and services are:

- Built to prevailing standards, ensuring adherence to best practice. managed and updated to assure a reliable, safe and consistently positive end user experience
- Secure and operated within the prevailing security policies which aim to mitigate current and emerging threats

**As well as**:

- Hands-on implementation, management and support of network, security and telephony systems and services & analysing system and service performance, providing indication of health and recommending enhancements and opportunities for improvement to ensure they remain operational, optimised and available.
- Providing 3rd line incident and problem management, identifying recurring faults and issues and acting as the point of escalation with onward escalation to Infrastructure Team Lead/Technology Manager as necessary.
- Ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements, ensuring tickets are prioritised, updated and managed in accordance with guidelines.
- Participating in DDaT projects and service improvement initiatives & working with external service and support providers as required.

**Entry requirements**:

- an A-Level in ICT
- OR an International Baccalaureate at Level 3 ICT
- OR a BTEC Extended Diploma in IT (180 credits)

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

**Desirable**:

- Knowledge and understanding of networking technology and networking principles.
- Possession of a full UK driving license, as travelling will be a key component of the role.
