IT Network

Exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Network & Telephony Engineer to join a large Health Care organisation located in Darlington and supporting a large estate spanning the whole of the UK.

As an IT Network & Telephony Engineer you will be the SME for all aspects of the Network and Telephony service and responsible for the management, routine maintenance, evaluating and deploying firmware for supported hardware, monitoring, support and upkeepof the infrastructure servicing staff and residents alike across all of our remote sites. You will be expected to contribute to the IT Infrastructure Transformation Strategy, working with the wider IT Infrastructure Operate Team to plan improvements and suggestoperational enhancements, work with external vendors in a professional capacity and handle support tickets and provide a high level of technical support to a wide range of users.

You will have demonstrable in-depth technical expertise and practical knowledge of a variety of network and telephony platforms and technologies and network design. This should include:

- Network infrastructure - firewalls, network switches, routers, wireless access points
- WAN technologies (SD-WAN, MPLS, site-to-site VPN)
- LAN/WLAN
- VoIP and Unified Communications
- Cloud infrastructure and networking, hosted platforms and services,VMware networking
- Network security, standards & policies
- IP addressing
- Proactive monitoring of network and telephony services
- Working with the wider team to help identify areas of concern and drive improvements, etc.

Along with experience in the above technologies you should have:

- Previous experience in a Network & Telephony Engineer or similar position
- Experience working with WiFi technologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues effectively
- Good problem-solving skills
- The ability to prioritise and organise your workload effectively
- CCNA or equivalent qualifications
