The Head of HR will lead and direct the routine functions of the Human Resources (HR) department including hiring and interviewing staff, payroll, benefits, succession planning, and enforcing company policies and practices. The Head of HR will ensure that the department operates efficiently and aligns with the business objectives.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. **Recruitment and Staffing**:

- Conduct interviews, oversee the hiring process, and ensure compliance with employment laws.
- Collaborate with department managers to forecast staffing needs.

2. **Employee Relations**:

- Serve as a point of contact for employee concerns, resolving issues and facilitating communication between staff and management.
- Promote a positive workplace culture and maintain morale through engagement initiatives.
- Handle disciplinary actions and terminations in compliance with company policy and legal requirements.

3. **Performance Management**:

- Oversee performance appraisal systems and ensure evaluations are conducted in a fair and timely manner.
- Assist managers with setting performance goals and implementing improvement plans.
- Provide coaching and support to supervisors on managing employee performance.

4. **Compensation and Benefits**:

- Administer compensation programs, ensuring pay practices are equitable and competitive.
- Oversee benefits administration.
- Conduct salary benchmarking and make recommendations for salary adjustments.

5. **Training and Development**:

- Identify training needs and develop programs to enhance employee skills and career development.
- Onboarding for new hires and continuous learning opportunities for current employees.
- Ensure compliance with mandatory training requirements.

6. **Compliance and Legal**:

- Ensure the organisation complies employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures.

7. **HR Strategy and Planning**:

- Participate in the development of HR strategies aligned with the organisation's goals.
- Analyse HR metrics and provide insights to senior management.
- Lead HR projects and initiatives to improve HR processes and practices.

**8. Payroll and Pensions**:

- Preparing the monthly payroll files and RTI.
- Auto-enrolment and monthly pension upload.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- **Education**: Level 7 CIPD
- **Experience**: Minimum of 5 year’s experience in HR management ideally within Engineering/Manufacturing.
- **Skills**:

- Strong knowledge of HR principles and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

**Working Conditions**:

- On site with possible occasional travel.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- 40 hours over 5 days.

**Benefits**:
