We’re looking for a flexible, motivated and passionate individual to lead the West Midlands Flood Resilience Team (FRT), securing delivery of their work programmes while keeping them safe, well and motivated to develop and grow.
Our communities are at the heart of the FRT’s work. The team are the home of our flood warning and informing service. Our FRTs support our communities to adapt and become more resilient to the impacts of flooding and climate change and working with them and our partners afterwards, should the worst happen. The Team Leader will support the team, working with local and national colleagues, to deliver this with a One West Midlands voice and culture.
The team- Your team is based across the West Midlands as such, you should be comfortable with remote working and have a full driving licence.
The team manage our flood warning service and play a critical role in achieving the ambitions of the Flood Risk Strategy, which includes helping our communities adapt and become more resilient to their future flood risk in a changing climate. The team are fundamental to incident management, from preparation through to recovery.
- Experience/skills required- This is a leadership role. You will ideally have experience in leading people, delivering to targets and supporting individuals to grow, develop and be safe.
Effective relationships, across your peers and beyond, are key to delivery. You will be experienced in working across organisations. You will be a confident and successful communicator, able to influence and support others, inside and outside of the organisation.
Familiarity with the Environment Agency would be advantageous but not essential Full training is provided.

The role will be a mixture of office based and home. The teams you will support are dispersed at several locations therefore travel will be required in future to support your colleagues and attend meetings.
