To be accountable for a number of designated wards / departments physical and human resources. To make significant contribution to the development of the medium to long term strategy for these services provided by the Care Group and to ensure that the fundamental aspects of care are right.

To provide a visible and accessible presence in the ward settings to whom patients and their families can turn for assistance, advice and support. To ensure administrative and support services are designed and delivered to achieve the highest standards of care within the group of wards/specialist services and practitioners for which the post holder is accountable. To ensure professional development of staff including education and training of pre and post-registered staff within the wards for which the post holder is accountable.

The Collaborative Care Group consists of a number of Pre-assessment acute/elective orthopaedic and surgical wards, Day case, Theatres/Critical Care, Specialist services and Practitioners.

The post holder would ensure the highest standards of clinical care are delivered by providing leadership to the professional and direct care staff within the wards and departments for which the post holder is accountable.

They should be a visible and accessible presence in the ward settings, maintaining effective communication, and ensure the Trust patient safety and quality standards are maintained.

The post holder should facilitate professional development of staff including education and training of pre and post-registered staff within the wards for which the post holder is accountable.
