Workflow Administrator

The Workflow team provides a high-quality administrative service to the GPs at Mulberry Surgery. Their role is to deal with all clinical correspondence received at the practice, identifying further actions, adding accurate and useful data to patient records, maximising the quality and consistency of coding and thereby reducing the administrative burden on the GPs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Accurately code diagnoses, procedures and investigations within systemone, following the Mulberry Surgery Workflow protocols.
- Liaise with the GP to facilitate timely and accurate medications reconciliation, following agreed protocols.
- Identify and record key clinical data such as new diagnoses, BP recordings, smoking status, and other items as detailed in the Workflow guide.
- Identify any actions, such as blood tests to be arranged, and task the relevant group.
- Identify the complex or high-risk areas that require input or knowledge from the clinical team, including safeguarding issues, working to the agreed protocols.
- Liaise with clinical staff for complex correspondence.
- Responding promptly to any queries/tasks about letters processed by Workflow.
- Summarising and coding of incoming new patient notes.
- Investigate incidents promptly and identify where changes need to be made to ensure prevention of future incidents.
- Help develop new ways of processing incoming paperwork and correspondence, including coding.
- Undertake additional tasks as required by the line manager or GP Partners.
