**What will you be doing?**
- Lead and develop Support Services across mirus to provide a range of high quality, outcome focused and citizen directed services.
- Take on the ‘Responsible Individual' responsibilities and functions as defined under the Regulation and Inspection of Social Care Wales Act (RISCA).
- As a member of the senior team, work in partnership with the people we support, their families/carers, a range of internal departments/colleagues, external partners, commissioners, and regulators to continually improve practice and develop new services / service models
**What are you main responsibilities?**
**Strategic leadership and Management**
- Provide expert leadership to area managers and other colleagues to provide high quality and effective support services
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Support Services Strategic Aims and Objectives.
- Advise on any relevant issues and trends affecting Support Service delivery.
- Ensure a safeguarding approach to the delivery of support services through proactive quality assurance strategies.
- Promote and develop a co-productive culture within Mirus; stimulating co-productive working relationships with people we support, families and colleagues
- Prepare reports, proposals, recommendations, discussion papers and policy documents relevant to the objectives of the role.
- Work constructively and collaboratively with local authority commissioners and regulators so mirus continually drives improvements in services.
**Support Service Delivery**
- Lead consistent, innovative, high quality, outcome focused, support services
- Ensure that the services we provide are citizen (self) directed and that they enable people to exercise their human rights consistent with the law, formal guidance, commissioning aims, Mirus Code of Practice and Operational Policy.
- Ensure that resources are targeted to ensure the delivery of support services strategic aims and objectives.
- Set Regional (and service) direction and targets that clearly link to organisational objectives.
- Ensure that ‘Statements of Purpose' and Operational Policies are up to date and in keeping with the relevant legislation, regulation and best practice.
**Colleague and Volunteer Effectiveness**
- Ensure that Colleagues and volunteers feel valued, supported, developed and are effective in providing citizen directed support.
- Effectively manage the performance and development of individuals and the team.
- Provide regular and effective supervision and appraisal and opportunities for growth and development
**Financial/Resource Management**
- Lead on the annual budget setting processes. Ensure that local, regional and organisational support services financial targets are achieved. Ensure that resources are targeted to deliver high quality and innovative services in line with agreed budgets.
