The Heron Medical Practice is a group of GP surgeries in Herne Bay and surrounding areas. Across 3 sites, our team consists of 7 GP Partners, 5 Salaried GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, paramedics and pharmacists and a strong support team of non-clinical staff.

We are looking for a Qualified Accountancy professional to join the senior management team as finance lead working alongside GP Partners.

This is an exciting role for someone who is interested in the challenge of managing financial systems for a multi-service practice. The Finance Lead will be an exceptional accountant who can oversee the many important accounting functions of our rapidly growing practice. You will lead various accounting periods including month end, year-end and annual budgeting.

Excellent communication skills and the creativity and tenacity to work effectively, provide financial analysis, reporting and guidance on strategy, plans and performance at business and departmental levels.

Take overall control of the organisations accounting function - including reconciling all balance sheet accounts and proactively reviewing the gross profit margin of the business.

Developing financial management strategies to reduce financial risk, providing relevant recommendations to maximise profits and assisting the Senior Management Team in decision making.

Monitoring reporting systems, preparing accurate financial reports and statements, interpreting data, preparing and publishing all financial documents and ensuring adherence to NHS regulations.

Develop long-term and strategic business plans and organising new funding strategies

Oversee payroll and employee benefits and taxes, meet all statutory reporting requirement.

Actively manage all payments.

Communicate with various stakeholders of the business to understand the different income streams to provide accurate forecasting and reporting of performance.

Day to day cash management for the business.

Ensure that the business financial systems are robust, compliant and able to support both current activities and future growth.

Contribute to the development and execution of company strategy, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate.

Responsible for accurate and reliable financial statement in accordance with IFRS accounting standards.

Strong leadership, influencing and teamwork skills

Degree in financing or accounting, AAT Accounting Qualification

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £20.46 per hour
