Legal Cashier

One of Kent's leading law firms is currently seeking a highly numerate professional with relevant accounts experience to take up the responsibility of Legal Cashier role within their Herne Bay office.
Utilising your extensive experience from a similar role, you will be involved in conveyancing transactions among other responsibilities, ensuring all matters are dealt with in a timely manner and with great attention to detail.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist with property transactions - checking of completion statements, keying of payments onto Bankline, checking of back-up documents and that all internal procedures have been followed
- Complete the whole range of processing, including client, office and nominal transactions
- Assist with maintaining Bankline CHAPS/Faster Payments templates for all regular payees
- Obtaining approval from partners for outward payments
- To take card payments over the telephone and produce receipts for both fee earners and clients
- Assist Cashiers Supervisor in weekly Cashiers' report to ensure all transfers are made within 14 day limit
- Respond to queries from fee earners and secretaries; providing support and training as required
- Produce cheques and sort for sending to correct branches
- Annual archiving of accounts records and update of manual records
- Assist with processing petty cash reconciliations for all branches
- Assist with processing purchase ledger postings
- Assist the Finance Manager with month/year end queries as required
- Liaise with fee earners on overdue bills, completing agreed actions and ensuring that accurate records are kept
- Assist with credit control
To be considered, applicants will need an applied working knowledge of solicitors accounts rules and combine this with a solid understanding of the conveyancing process.
Location: Herne Bay

**Salary**: £22,000- £24,000
Hours: Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
