Whilst this position would be primarily based in the Royal Bournemouth Ophthalmology department, there will expectation of the role to work across both Royal Bournemouth and Poole Hospitals to support the Head and Neck directorate.

**Base Location**: Bournemouth

To have overall responsibility for the Education, Training and development of the Nursing and Allied Health Care professionals staff in the Head and Neck Directorate in UHD.

The Practice Educator will support the provision of professional leadership for nurses working within head and Neck and will lead on the delivery of the local induction programmes for all new members of staff and support the on-going training of the staff in the Head and Neck directorate.

A key element of the role will be the identification of the learning and development needs of the clinical staff across the Head and Neck Directorate across UHD. Work alongside the Head and Neck Matrons to prepare the Head and Neck services for relocating across the UHD sites and support retention and recruitment of staff.

The post holder will also contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures within their sphere of responsibility.

Act as a positive, professional, role model in promoting clinical excellence and offer expert, professional development advice ensuring practice is patient centred and evidence based
