Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our team as a Practice Educator for our Acute Medical Units in University Hospitals Dorset.

The post holder will be a nurse with advanced clinical skills and an expert knowledge base, responsible for the educational development of our Acute Medical Units.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the provision of professional leadership for nurses and healthcare assistants working in the directorate.
  • Work alongside staff during their shift to sign off competencies and aid training and development.
  • Identify the learning and development needs of nursing and healthcare staff working in Acute Medicine.
  • Develop a learning framework and competencies to support and sign off core clinical competencies and specific skills identified by Acute Medicine.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures within their sphere of responsibility.

Requirements:

  • NMC registered nurse.
  • Learning and assessing in clinical practice.
  • Leadership qualification or experience.
  • Computer literacy with a wide range of software, databases, and spreadsheets.
