About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Practice Development Educator to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. As a Practice Development Educator, you will play a key role in supporting the development of nursing practice and education on the Older Persons Admissions Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement educational plans to meet the needs of nursing staff on the Older Persons Admissions Unit.
  • Provide expert tuition, support, and guidance to nursing staff caring for acutely unwell patients and their families.
  • Act as a resource for staff in elderly care, offering expert knowledge and sharing extensive experience with others.
  • Ensure standards are met in clinical practice and provide professional accountability without direct supervision.
  • Train nursing staff to ensure safety and competence in practice, addressing issues of clinical risk.
Requirements
  • UK NMC Registration.
  • Experience within elderly care.
  • Excellent communication skills to work collaboratively with other practice educators and clinical staff.
  • Ability to support and assess practice, and be flexible within their working pattern.
  • Experience with technical equipment and ability to train others.
