As Head of Patient Safety and Risk you will manage the patient safety and risk agenda at UHCW and be integral in the implementation of the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework (PSIRF) and development of the Trusts Patient Safety Incident Response Plan (PSIRP).

The role requires oversight and management of all serious incidents, thematic reviews, patient safety incidents, risk registers and national patient safety alerts.

You will have line management responsibility for the Patient Safety Team, Clinical Harm and Risk Manager and our Datix Team.

A core responsibility for 2023 is the continued development and implementation of PSIRF at UHCW with an associated PSIRP. This will include learning assurance capability to analyse data and identify themes.

Provide leadership and professional advice to managers and staff within the Trust on patient safety and clinical risk management.

Develop and review the Trust’s Risk Management Strategy and Policy. Implement the strategy and policy across the Trust to ensure it is embedded within the culture and owned by key clinical and non-clinical staff.

Lead large-scale, trust-wide projects related to Patient Safety & Risk as required.
