We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity to join the Phoenix Futures team as an Alcohol Outreach worker in our Essex Rough Sleeping Drug & Alcohol Support Team. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (made up of alcohol services, drug services, housing support, health workers, mental health and wellbeing workers) with the sole task of reducing the numbers of rough sleepers on the streets, engaging them with and supporting them through structured drug and alcohol treatment, building recovery and creating robust support plans, so they do not return to the streets once resettled.

**The Role**

We are looking for an Alcohol outreach practitioner to support people who are rough sleeping to access appropriate substance misuse treatment and interventions for their complex needs. This will be achieved by working alongside partner agencies as part of a multi-disciplinary team and therefore good communication and partnership working is vital. The role will involve offering a range of harm reduction interventions and helping to engage service users in a recovery focused way to attain improved health outcomes and achieve their personalised treatment goals.

We are looking for people with experience of working within the substance misuse / outreach / mental health field. Effective partnership working and communication skills are key to this role, alongside assessment, care planning and risk management skills. The post will be based in the Chelmsford area and you will be part of the wider Phoenix Futures team who have a number of services across Essex.

To join us as an Alcohol Outreach Worker you will need:

- Relevant experience of work in the field of problematic substance use, criminal justice or another comparable field
- Experience of managing a busy caseload and excellent organisational skills
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Evidence of effective partnership working and the ability to network for the benefit of the client and service
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word and familiar with relevant database management systems
- The ability to evidence excellent communication skills, both written and oral skills
