Do you want to part of a new and exciting project supporting people to overcome hardship and help them get back into work?

Our Financial Wellbeing Coordinators work as part of our Help Hub, assisting people to understand their finances and deal with their debts. This additional role takes the same approach, but with a particular focus on employment and training as a route out of hardship.

**What you could be part of**

You will be working as part of the Councils’ Help Hub. This multi-agency service supports people to overcome their challenges and vulnerabilities, live independently and achieve their potential. This particular role is part of our UKSPF skills and employability work, a new function within the Help Hub, which aims to use the same multi agency support approach to help people reach their potential. You will be working alongside other services to deliver support to customers of our Help Hub, Social Prescribing and housing teams.

**What you’ll be doing**

**You will work alongside our other Financial Wellbeing Coordinators, but your main focus will be on supporting access to employment and training.**
- Undertake initial assessments of customers financial circumstances and offer advice and guidance on low-level debt, welfare issues and employment. Providing employment and training provision, alongside partners, where this would improve a customer’s circumstances
- Work in partnership with specialist advice workers and coordinate the delivery of 1 to 1 support and deliver direct casework to enable the residents to put specialist advice into practice
- Support access to a range of services for vulnerable customers with financial support needs, understand the nature of their contact, what action is required and take into account potential safeguarding issues and barriers to support.
- Liaise with other agencies and teams to undertake background research on cases and gather additional information to enable effective decisions to be made. Utilise the Help Hub partnership and refer internal or external enquiries to appropriate services as appropriate
- Work in partnership with specialist advice workers and coordinate the delivery of 1 to 1 support and deliver direct casework to enable the residents to put specialist advice into practice
- Engage with debt advisers, partner agencies and creditors to identify, implement and monitor solutions to customer’s debt issues.
- Keep up to date and accurate records and data to allow for information retrieval and evaluation of the service
- Working alongside Help Hub colleagues provide advice and guidance to customers and external colleagues

**You must have **
- Experience of dealing with vulnerable or challenging customers in a face to face or administrative role
- A Broad understanding of benefits issues and debt advice options
- Evidence of being able to implement, maintain and update information systems and/or new administrative processes
- Demonstrable evidence of being able to exercise judgement in a range of scenarios including working with different organisations.
- Ability to find creative solutions and make sound decisions in order to resolve customer issues
- Ability to multi task and work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Ability to deal and communicate with different services, groups and organisations and in customer facing situation
