We currently have a great opportunity to join the Health and Safety team based at our Tweed Valley Maltings site in Berwick upon Tweed.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
**Key outcomes and deliverables**:
- Business activities are enabled to take place in a safe manner with due regard for risk management.
- Continuous improvement of our Safety Culture, working towards a Generative Safety Culture.
- Monitor/audit processes and systems to enable compliance and effective use of the established systems.
- Continuous development and improvement of systems and procedures to support cultural change and achieve the Business General and Sustainability goals.
- Support reduction in accident frequency and severity, with the ultimate goal of achieving Zero Harm.
- Initiatives delivered in a timely and effective manner.
**Expected behaviours**:
- Act as the assigned site’s champion and source of expertise and competent advice for Health and Safety.
- Promote, develop and work towards a Risk Aware and positive Safety Culture using a continuous improvement approach.
- Lead by example in all Health and Safety matters, always acting in an ethical manner and with integrity and impartiality.
- Adopt a collaborative and supportive team working approach by transferring knowledge and using coaching and mentoring techniques to drive improvement.
- Use constructive feedback and praise to drive positive behaviours.
- Enable delivery of Collective Ambition goals and objectives and deliver on own personal and Departmental Objectives.
- Contribute to delivering innovative and novel solutions/approaches for achieving goals and objectives.
