**Health & Safety Advisor / Trainer (House Building) - North East**

**The Role**

Reporting to directly to the Construction Services Director, you will be required to provide HSE support to multiple sites across the Newcastle & North East area. This support will also involve the delivery of our Clients portfolio of training courses in multiple locations across the North of England & Scotland.

The ability & willingness to travel & occasionally stay overnight is essential to the role.

You will be responsible for:

- Carrying out Site Inspections and Site Support Visits,
- Providing technical & HSE support to Site Management Teams
- Undertaking targeted monthly checks
- Attending monthly meetings
- Supporting Client Regional HSE Advisor
- Finding practical solutions to issues that arise on site
- Interacting with site management teams and building trust & solid working relationship's
- Incident and accident investigation
- Carrying out External PC / Client Inspections
- The professional delivery of a range of training including Temporary Works, Scaffold, Crane Management for operatives and management teams.
- The development of new training material & Powerpoint presentations as required.

**About You**:
**Qualifications, experience and training**:

- NEBOSH General /Construction Certificate.

**- **M**inimum of three years occupational experience in construction / Housebuilding.**
- **Experienced HSE trainer with the ability to deliver training material in a confident, professional manner.**
- CITB Site Safety Plus (Approved Tutor Certificate) or willing to work towards this
- Adult Teaching Qualification (AET) or equivalent, or willing to work towards this.
- Experience and competency across the required disciplines.

**Personal Abilities**:

- The desire to drive the continuous improvement of H & S on site
- The personality to interact with workforce & management alike.
- The ability to produce detailed, informative reports in a timely manner.
- The ability to deliver of a range of training programs including Temporary Works, Scaffold, Crane Management for operatives and management teams.
- Experience in the development of professional training material, presentations & Powerpoints.
- Excellent time management skills.
- The ability to manage your time & commitments efficiently
- Excellent interpersonal skills & the ability to build relationships.
- The willingness to travel (Some occasional overnight stays will be required)
