Bristol, United Kingdom University of Bristol Students' Union Full time

**Democracy and Campaigns Co-Ordinator**

**Ready to support student-led organising and become an expert in students’ union democracy? You could be our new Democracy and Campaigns Coordinator**

Over the last few years, there’s been a huge shift in democracy and political activism. More and more people and communities have been taking action to ensure their voice is heard and getting involved in the things that really matter to them. We’re looking for someone who is interested in developing the structures that enable change to happen. Our new Democracy and Campaigns Coordinator will take a lead on ensuring that all students at Bristol University have an opportunity to shape their experience, influence how their students’ union is run and hold their representatives accountable. You’ll become an expert in Bristol SU’s democratic processes and you’ll make sure that all students, whoever they are, are excited and enabled to take part.

You’ll be passionate about empowering and enabling volunteers to take charge and campaign on the things that matter to them. You’ll work closely with student leaders to build and deliver impactful campaigns and you’ll be a key advisor, ensuring that our student-led campaigning work is based on evidence, giving them the best chance of success. The person in this role will be both excited about activism and change making, but also keen to develop and maintain the key processes such as our student council and annual elections programme.

You don’t have to have worked in higher education or in a students’ union before. But we are looking for someone who can help us ensure that our democracy and campaigns are engaging and impactful. The person we’re looking for is organised, inspiring and interested in the details.

Our team isn’t as representative of our student body as we’d like it to be. So we’re particularly keen to hear from you if you’re Black, disabled, Transgender, working class or have any other marginalised experience. It’s important to us that we diversify our team and that students see themselves represented here.
