About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit an Administrator to our Public Health Department. The purpose of the role is to deliver a high level of flexible administrative support to the Public Health Team, aiding the Business Manager and Consultants in Public Health in ensuring the efficient running of the service.

It would be advantageous if you have an understanding and experience of supporting management within complex, multi-structured organisations through the efficient implementation of various administrative procedures and business processes, such as day-to-day diary management, minuting meetings and monitoring of team inboxes. You will be instrumental in helping develop and maintain administrative systems, financial processing, maintaining guidance documents and key service records.

Above all, we are keen to attract people who will embrace the values and behaviours of the Council to support services to innovate and implement improvements which positively impact our service users.

What will you be doing?
- Assist in the development and maintenance of business processes to support management and ensure the efficient running of the Public Health team.
- Assist, coach and mentor less experienced colleagues in the performance of routine tasks to support the achievement of individual and team performance and development objectives.
- Arrange all aspects of internal, inter-agency and inter-departmental meetings, including note-taking/minuting in some cases.
- Maintain information technology and office systems to ensure effective services including Microsoft office, SharePoint, e-recruitment, ERP Gold etc.
- Provide an efficient and confidential support service to senior managers, including diary management responsibilities.
- On instruction, raise purchase orders, invoices and journals for the team via ERP Gold.
- Initiate and build good working relationships with colleagues and other professionals to deliver the service required.

About you
**Education, Qualifications and Training**
- Essential Criteria_
- Able to demonstrate a good level of general education equivalent to GCSE standard in English and Maths grade A-C
- Desirable Criteria_
- Knowledge of SharePoint/Outlook

**Experience and Knowledge**
- Essential Criteria_
- Experience of working in a busy office based role.
- Demonstrate experience of arranging, supporting and minuting meetings to a high standard.
- Experience of diary management.

**Ability and Skills**
- Essential Criteria_
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to demonstrate a flexible and creative approach to problem solving.
- Able to work independently and as an effective team member with minimum supervision.

- Able to prioritise own workload and cope well under pressure to meet deadlines.
