As a Brand Communications Studio Assistant, you’ll be at the heart of this work. Providing day to day support to the Brand Communications department, you’ll assist with the management of financial processes and records, reporting on financial positions, monitoring stock levels of printed materials, and liaising with a wide range of colleagues, designers, distributers, organisations, and printers.

You’ll act as the in-house proof-reader and sub-editor, reviewing campaign copy produced by NHS Blood and Transplant and advising on correct wording. Maintaining the image library and supporting current work requests, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance and improvement of all administrative systems to ensure the communications department has what it needs to run smoothly and effectively.

Working hours will be 30 hours working 7.5 hours per day Monday to Thursday.

**Main duties of the job**

In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day support for the Brand Communications department with additional responsibilities to the wider Donor Experience Directorate. Your day to day responsibilities will include:

- Supporting the brand communications team and financial processes and records
- Reporting on financial positions which includes budget spends
- Monitoring stock levels of printed materials
- Managing reprints, new requirements for corporate materials
- Ensuring effective liaison with designers, printers and the organisation’s distribution hubs for marketing and promotional materials
- Maintaining a record of all controlled documents within the department
- Maintaining the image library and supporting current work requests lead by the project leads
- Reviewing and updating our current project management software ‘Asana’
- Reviewing written text for campaign literature produced ‘in house
- Advising on correct wording to be used, as the in-house proof-reader and sub-editor.

You will be required to travel and spend time away from base, which will involve working irregular hours when required, on rare occasions and with prior notice

**Experience and Knowledge**
- Experience of working in an administrative role
- Experience of liaising with designers and printers to purchase and deliver design and print services
- Experience of responding to and solving customer queries
- Experience in a design background as a designer or a design assistant to a studio
- Experience of managing an image library
- Knowledge and experience of working with relevant legislation, including understanding of data protection & the need for donor/patient confidentiality
- Experience of writing and proofreading, for example re-write text in leaflets, brochures etc.
- Experience in the use of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), or equivalent Systems and managing and maintaining Microsoft databases

**Qualifications and Training**
- Educated to diploma level OR equivalent relevant experience to diploma level
- Knowledge of design, printing and production techniques acquired through external training courses or on the job training
- Demonstrates commitment to own continued professional development (CPD)
