**Overview**:
Compass Associates are delighted to be working in partnership with one of the largest providers of community-based ophthalmology services in the UK. My client is seeking a Head of Quality and Patient Safety on a Fixed Term Contract for 6 months to ensure high quality, safe care is delivered across the services and for providing professional expertise and guidance to support office staff and ventures.

**Responsibilities**:
Ensuring high quality, safe care is delivered across the business.
Providing professional expertise and guidance to support office staff and our associated OJV's.
Support the on-going development of strong working relationships with ventures and ICB quality leads.
Lead and provide direct support to the divisional governance business partners
Develop and write reports that provides assurance to NMSL Board on the quality of care delivered
Lead the patient safety incident processes, including full implementation and embedding of PSIRF.
Lead the development of the patient safety and quality strategy and ensure it is fully embedded.
Advise our commissioning team on quality elements of contracts.
Build strong relationships with all staff throughout the business, promoting quality improvement & safety.
Responsible for the formulation of applicable new policies and ensuring existing policies and protocols are updated and fit for purpose.
Keep up to date with any changes to regulatory / compliance obligations and best practice guidelines.
Produce the annual Safeguarding report.

**Requirements**:
Registered General Nurse
Management experience
Significant experience of leading clinical quality and safety agenda, including incident management.
Demonstrable experience of developing, implementing and maintaining robust healthcare governance structures including corporate and clinical governance, risk management and assurance frameworks.
Proven experience of leading and developing national/ remote teams.
Experience of leading quality improvement initiatives.
Experience of working with the CQC and other healthcare regulators (MHRA, HSIB etc)
Experience of audit and a clear track record in supporting service improvement.
Experience of management of healthcare standards, policies and procedures
