**Job Overview**:
We are looking for a medical secretary to join our team at LIPS helping our consultants run their practice. As a medical secretary you will be responsible for ensuring the continued provision of the highest quality of secretarial and administrative support.

Duties will include providing full secretarial support to various consultants across various specialties, being responsible for the appropriate management of patient appointments, liaising with patients as required

They are pioneers of novel treatments, cutting edge surgical technology, mínimally invasive techniques, bespoke implants, computer navigated and robotic surgery, who work exclusively at internationally renowned London NHS teaching (university) hospitals, a benchmark of success.

This consultant led healthcare start-up is going to experience significant growth in revenues, headcount, services and facilities over the next few years, with aspirational targets projected to 2031.

**Responsibilities**:

- You will provide full secretariat support to the Consultants practice (including audio - typing of clinical and non-clinical material, reports etc.) including those of a sensitive nature, whilst maintaining confidentiality.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to consultants, including managing their calendars, organising meetings, handling correspondence, and assisting with documentation and paperwork.
- At consultant’s request arrange admissions, request investigations, and obtain test results using hospital data system. You will also draw consultants’ immediate attention to results deemed abnormal or urgent.
- Coordinate referrals as directed by consultants, ensuring seamless transitions of care and timely follow -up and preparation of relevant clinic notes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, risk management activities and compliance audits, contributing to the ongoing enhancement of LIPS clinical practices and patient safety.

**Experience**:

- Proven experience as a Medical Secretary or similar role in a healthcare environment
- Strong administrative skills with proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with patients and staff
- Knowledge of medical terminology and understanding of medical procedures
- Ability to multitask, prioritise work, and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information
